The Fourth Grade Hallway
Every elementary school has the same legends: it used to be a hospital or this is the school where Bloody Mary stays. I don't know about Bloody Mary, but I can tell you that Houston Elementary was no hospital. It has always been just a school, but with a few "exchange students".
The story to this particular place is more of a personal one for me and my elementary buddies, but based on its supposed history it's too much of a coincidence.
It happened on the fourth floor of the school, which is actually the lowest level of the main building, also named the "Fourth Grade Hallway". All the teachers on that floor would have an exact time to take us for our bathroom/water breaks. My friends and I would usually abuse this time in the girls' bathroom (which was incredibly huge for whatever reason). There was literally enough room for us to do cartweels inside (and we did) so we would play around and gossip for the ten minutes we were given until the teacher would barge open the door and yell at us to come out. On this day we were all at the farthest side, away from the door, by the sinks when the lights turned off. It became pitch black but we all thought someone had done it as a prank. No one admitted to turning off the lights. We all ignored it when it happened again. We called each other to huddle next to the sinks, away from the switches, just to make sure. It happened once more. No one was anywhere near the switches, nor did our teacher open the door to turn off the lights himself. We ran out as fast as we could, never finding the culprit to who kept turning off the lights that day.
A friend of mine also claimed to have heard a girl's voice singing "La la la la la..." when she had stayed after class for tutoring.
What really ties this all together is the story my own grandmother claims to have happened and had even made the news (I do not truely know if the story is true. I have yet to check the newspapers). It was about an African-American girl who went to Houston, there was some accident that ended up killing her somewhere in the main building. Could the same girl be haunting the fourth floor?
